5 Days Trip From Tangier to Marrakech

Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen – Fes {324 km} 5 Hours:

We will pick you up from your hotel, airport or port and we will begin our 5-day travel tour from Tangier to Marrakech.

Traveling through the beautiful Rif mountains passing through Tetouan and we will continue to the blue city “Chefchaouen” where we will have free time to explore this small and charming city walking through its narrow streets painted with blue and white colors that will give you the opportunity to take some beautiful photographs.

Visiting its ancient medina, Ras el Ma “head of the water” this is the point where the cool mountain waterfall filters into the city you will have a delicious lunch at a local restaurant in the famous Plaza Uta el-Hammam square.

And in the afternoon once your visit ends we will travel in the direction of Fes while enjoying wonderful views of the rif mountains and green landscapes of northern Morocco, arrival in the late afternoon, accommodation in decorated hotel / riad.

Day 2: Fes – Atlas Mountains – Tizi N Talgham – Errachidia – Merzouga Desert {470 km} 7 Hours:

Your 5-day Morocco Tangier to Marrakech tour with Sahara Camel Trips continues with 8:30 AM pickup. from your hotel in Fez and drive to Merzouga through the Middle Atlas Mountains.

We will enjoy a good trip through the Berber villages, we make a stop in the beautiful city of Ifrane (known as “Moroccan Switzerland”) we continue to Azrou the famous cedar forest where you can see the monkeys and then we continue to the city of Midelt, Free time to rest and have lunch.

After lunch we will head south towards Erfoud known for fossils, its market and annual date festival through the magnificent Ziz Valley where we will stop to admire a very good panoramic view with the oasis landscape.

In the afternoon we will arrive at the impressive desert of Erg Chebbi. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Merzouga.

Day 3: Discover Merzouga area – Erg Chebbi – Camel ride and night in the Camp {60 km} 3 Hours:

The next day, after having breakfast at the hotel, we will start our excursion in the Merzouga desert to explore different and interesting sites around the Erg Chebbi dunes, we will visit the Hassi labied oasis to see its ancient irrigation canal and land agriculture. .

We will head south towards Dayt Sriji temporary lake (if there is water) continue to Khamlia village if you are interested in listening to the gnawa music of the dark skinned people who were brought to Morocco as immigrants over a hundred years ago and who were working Like slaves.

We will make several stops at different panoramic views to enjoy the scenery and take photos of the sights after lunch at a local restaurant we return to the village. From here the camel ride begins for approximately an hour and a half to reach their Berber nomad tents.

During the excursion we will make a stop in the middle of the dunes to watch the sunset, try the sandboard if it is an activity that interests you, take photos and enjoy the landscape after the sun sets we continue to the camp where you will be received with a glass of mint tea, delicious dinner, music party around the fire, admire a starry sky and sleep in a Berber tent in the desert of Merzouga.

Day 4 : Merzouga – Rissani Market – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley {270 km} 4 Hours:

Today, since you are already in the desert, it is worth getting up early in the morning to see the sunrise near the camp.

After these enchanting moments you will have breakfast and take a shower in the camp. Then you will be able to ride camels or transfer to the original starting location where you will meet your driver and continue your 5 days tour from Tangier to Marrakech through the Sahara visiting the Rissani weekly market if it is one of the market days (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday).

We will pass through small Berber villages such as Touroug, Tinjdad and Tinghir where we will stop to admire its beautiful Todra valley full of palm trees and vegetation. We will continue to the Togra gorge located at the foot of the high atlas mountains, a famous place for climbers who will have free time to walk through its high canyons.

Free time for lunch. Then in the afternoon we will travel to Boumalne dades to reach the Dades valley, dinner and accommodation at the hotel / riad.

Day 5 : Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech {320 km} 7 Hours:

Today is the last day of our route from Tangier to Marrakech, our trip continues in the direction of Marrakech through Kalaat Mgouna the valley of roses and the palm grove of Skoura.

We will visit Kasbah Taourirt and the film studios in Ouarzazate (optional) then we will go to Ait Benhaddou where we will visit its famous and oldest kasbah (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986).

Famous movies have been filmed in this spectacular location, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, Sahara with Penélope Cruz etc. Free time for lunch. Then we continue our journey crossing the High Atlas Mountains through the highest road pass in Morocco called Tizi Ntichka at 2260 meters above sea level offering amazing views of valleys, mountains and many Berber villages.

Arrival in the afternoon / night in Marrakech, transfer to your hotel and end of our 5-day trip from Tangier to Marrakech.
