Program Itinerary

DAY 1: Airport – Marrakech:

Pick up at Marrakech airport and transfer to the hotel. Free time to make a first contact with the famous Jamaa el Fna square (possibility of guided tour). Accommodation in a quiet hotel near Jemma El Fna Square so you can get around easily on foot.

DAY 2: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate:

Departure at 8:30 am from the hotel in Marrakech. The route to the High Atlas begins through the port of TiziN’Tichka, making stops to contemplate the fabulous panoramic views and rest whenever you feel like it. Optional visit to the argan oil cooperative where you can learn about this product exclusively manufactured in Morocco, where they will explain the production stages and the countless benefits it has for the human body. Later we will detour along a 6 km track path that will take us to the village of Ait Ben Haddou where we will visit its famous Kasbah (UNESCO World Heritage Site). In this spectacular environment, films as famous as Gladiator or The Jewel of the Nile were filmed. Lunch in the town and we continue to Ouarzazate, a city known as the gateway to the desert and the Holliwood of Morocco, where you can visit, if you are interested, the studios of cinema. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3: Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Alnif – Merzouga Dunes:

After breakfast we head towards the Draa Valley, one of the longest rivers in Morocco. We will make several stops to admire the beautiful adobe kasbahs and Berber villages that emerge along the way and the wonders of the Draa. After lunch in Alnif within 2 hours we will arrive at the impressive dunes of Merzouga, where we will have a hospitality tea while we rest a little from the trip. We leave our suitcases at the hotel and everything that we will not need in the desert and we will depart on an excursion with the camels for approximately an hour and a half, taking us to the foot of the Great Dune, while a beautiful sunset illuminates us in the desert. Dinner and overnight at the desert camp in a Jaima under its spectacular canopy of stars.

DAY 4: Merzouga – Khamlia – Visit To The Nomads – Merzouga:

We got up before dawn to watch the majestic sunrise over the dunes. Return by camel to the hotel to take a comforting shower and have breakfast. Next we will go for a 4×4 ride through the Erg Chebbi, the expanse of sand desert where the highest dune in Morocco is located, following a track from the old Paris-Dakar, with the mountains that mark the border with Algeria at the bottom. Stop at the Tissardmin oasis in the nomad camps where we will have the opportunity to learn about their customs and discover the secrets of their lives in the desert. We will make a stop to observe a panoramic view from a viewpoint where you can see the entire Erg Chebbi. Visit Khamlia, a town whose inhabitants are originally from Mali, where we can relax with a cup of tea while listening to a Gnawa music concert. Return to the hotel and free afternoon to climb the dunes and enjoy a romantic sunset. After dinner, a show with Berber drums awaits us. Dinner and overnight in a cozy hotel in front of the desert dunes.

DAY 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley:

We will head towards Rissani, passing first through Erfoud where you can visit the fossilized marble factory, where fossils extracted from the desert quarries are worked, before continuing towards the palm groves of Touroug and Tinejdad. We will arrive at one of the most prominent places in the South: the Todra Gorge. The river bed has formed a gorge with vertical walls of enormous proportions and great beauty, it is a unique place and a paradise for climbers. Lunch on site and free time to walk and calmly contemplate the Gorges. In the afternoon, we will continue towards the Dades Valley through Boumalne. Visit to the Dades Gorges. Dinner and overnight in a nice hotel next to the Dades River.

DAY 6: Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Marrakech:

After breakfast we will begin the route along a road strewn with Kasbahs, all different from each other. Arrival in Ouarzazate, panoramic view of the Kasbah of Taourirt (former residence of the Glaoui or Pasha of Marrakech).
