Program Itinerary
Day 1: Tangier – Asilah:
Arrival at the port/airport of Tangier, picked up by our staff. Departure to the beautiful coastal city of Asilah. Free day to explore the corners of this picturesque city on the Moroccan Atlantic coast that, despite being small, is famous for having one of the cleanest and most charming medinas in the country.
Day 2: Asilah – Tetouan – Chefchaouen:
After breakfast we will leave for the blue city of Chaouen, one of the essential destinations on our trips to Morocco. On the way we will stop at the unknown Tetouan, called the Spanish city because it was the capital of the Spanish protectorate. In this Spanish-Moorish city we can admire its Andalusian architecture. After the visit we will continue to Chaouen, arrival and transfer to the hotel. Free time to walk through this photogenic city and explore its narrow streets and old blue and white houses as well as its panoramic views. Accommodation and breakfast in a charming riad.
Day 3: Chefchaouen Tour:
After breakfast we will have the day free to explore its streets and souks, take photographs and enjoy the fresh air and relaxed climate of this beautiful city anchored between the mountains.
Day 4: Chefchaouen – Rabat:
After breakfast, our tour of Morocco leaves for the imperial city of Rabat (the capital since 1912), after 4 hours of driving we will arrive at this modern and at the same time monumental city to visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Hassan Tower. Night in a charming riad.
Day 5: Rabat – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes:
After a comforting breakfast, we will begin our day of travel by visiting the imperial city of Meknes, a city that reached its peak thanks to Sultan Mulay Ismail. Visit of his mausoleum and its famous Bab Mansour gate. After visiting Meknes, we will go to the Roman ruins of the city of Volubilis, where we will discover the oldest and most archaeological Morocco. We will be able to visit its ruins in detail with an ‘optional’ local guide and then continue towards our destination, the imperial city of Fes. Arrival in Fes. Free time to explore its medina and night in a charming riad.
Day 6: Tour of Fes:
After breakfast, guided tour of the city. Entire day dedicated to the discovery of the intellectual city of the kingdom. There are numerous monuments that you can visit: medersas (Koranic schools) Chahrij, Bouinania Attarin, Souks, Fes El-Jedid, the Karaouine Mosque (first university in the world). Free time and night in a charming riad.
Day 7: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Monkey Forest – Erfoud – Merzouga:
From Fes we will head towards the Middle Atlas, stopping in Ifrane, known as the Moroccan Switzerland due to its architectural style where the gabled roofs typical of the countries of northern Europe predominate. The next town we will pass through will be Azrou, crossing the National Park known for its cedar forests where the famous Barbary monkeys are found. Next we will tour the Ziz Valley that will lead us to Erfoud, known for its fossils. Then, one of the highlights of our trips to Morocco: arrival in the desert where we change the 4×4 for dromedaries with which we will take a pleasant two-hour walk through the dunes. After that, we will arrive at the tent camp in the heart of the desert where we will be welcomed, according to the tradition of the Sahara, with a Berber tea. Night in tents under the desert stars.
Day 8: Merzouga – Nomads – Khamlia – Erg Chebbi:
This day we can enjoy the beautiful spectacle of watching the sunrise over the sea of dunes of the Erg Chebbi desert. After breakfast we will return by camel to Merzouga and after a shower we will go out to visit the town of Khamlia, also known as the town of “the blacks”, so called because its inhabitants are descendants of the ancient slave trade that came from the Sudan. They are excellent musicians and have made this art their way of life. With them we will enjoy a small Gnawa music concert. We will return to the 4×4 to travel one of the tracks used in the Paris-Dakar Rally, visiting the Khol mines and the remains of a French and Berber village. We will make a panoramic stop to contemplate the sand desert that encompasses the Erg Chebbi as a whole. We will visit some desert nomads in the process of sedentary lifestyle with whom we can drink tea and learn better about their way of life. Return to the hotel. Free afternoon and night in the desert at a hotel.
Day 9: Merzouga Dunes – Rissani – Todra – Dades – Ouarzazate:
After breakfast, we will return by camel to the hotel where we will take a comforting shower. We will resume our tour of Morocco and go to Rissani, known for its souk little frequented by tourists, being one of the most authentic markets in the south of the country. There we can even find a donkey parking lot as well as nomads who come to get supplies. Once we visit Rissani, we will go to the Todra Gorges, famous for its very high rock walls where climbers from all over the world come. We will visit the Todra Gorges and after that we will continue our tour of Morocco towards the Dades Valley and then connect with the Valley of Roses and the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs. We will discover the kasbahs that are located in the middle of this beautiful valley of palm trees and then we will go to Ouarzazate, also called the Hollywood of Morocco. There we will visit the Taourirt kasbah and if we feel like it we can also visit the film studios. Transfer to the hotel and overnight in a charming riad.
Day 10: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Talouet – Marrakech:
After breakfast, we will visit the Taourirt kasbah, the main point of interest in Ouarzazate and one of the most interesting kasbahs in Morocco. This adobe kasbah flanked by crenellated towers was built by the Glaoui tribe in the 18th century for the gold route that ran from Marrakech to Tumbuktu. It is possible to visit its interior where the rooms of the Glaoui dynasty are located. Once visited and after 25 km of road, we will visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, famous for being the setting for blockbuster films such as the Oscar-winning Lawrence of Arabia, The Sheltering Sky and Babel. We will continue along the road crossing the Tichka port to embark on the journey to Marrakech. Upon arrival we will be dropped off at the hotel. Free afternoon and night in a charming riad.
Day 11: Marrakech Tour:
After breakfast, we dedicate this day of the trip to Marrakech, with a guided tour. There are numerous monuments that you can visit: Bahia Palace, Jemaa el Fna Square, Saadian Tombs, souks and the Koutoubia Mosque. Free afternoon and night in a charming riad.
Day 12: Marrakech:
Free day to continue visiting the imperial city of Marrakech or to do last minute shopping. At the agreed time, transfer to Marrakech airport.
