Excursion 2 Days From Marrakech to Zagora

Day 1 : Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou – Zagora – Camel ride and night in a Berber tent:

Get picked up from your accommodation in Marrakech at 8 o’clock in the morning and depart for the High Atlas Mountains passing through the Tizi N’Tichka pass with stops for panoramic views. On the way we will see many Berber villages. Then we continue south and take a detour to take another 6 km path that will take us to the ksar (fortified village) of Ait Ben Haddou, where we will visit the famous Kasbah (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986). Famous movies have been filmed in this spectacular stage, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, Sahara with Penelope Cruz…etc.

Free time for lunch in the city.

Then we continue to Zagora through the Anti Atlas Mountains, where we suggest a few photo stops. After 2 hours driving we arrive at our destination “Zagora desert” around 5pm. We leave the car there to ride the camels to the Berber tent camp, the drive takes about an hour and we get to see the sunset.

After dinner we will enjoy a show with drums and Berber music. We spend the night in the camp, sleeping in the nomad tent under the lights of the stars in the heart of the desert.

Day 2 : Zagora – Draa Valley – Anti Atlas – Ouarzazate – High Atlas – Marrakech: 

We get up early in the morning to see the sunrise from a small dune next to the camp. After breakfast, we return to Zagora on the camels and again in our car we head towards the Draa valley. On the way we will make some stops to take photos and enjoy the beautiful landscape of the valley that borders the Draa river. This river is the longest in Morocco and flows through the entire country to Mauritania to end in the Atlantic Ocean. Then we will go through the Anti Atlas to reach Ourzazate, where we can visit Taourirt Kasbah, the film studios and the Film Museum if you wish. Then we start the way back to Marrakech.

Stop at the port of Tizi N’Tichka and free time for lunch.

After lunch we continue our trip and in approximately 2 hours we arrive in Marrakech, transfer to the hotel and end of our services.
