Program Itinerary

Day 1: Casablanca » Fes:

The first day of our trip we left Casablanca for Fez. The road to Fez takes us through a beautiful stretch of farmland where olives, cereals, vegetables and grapes are grown. Before reaching Fez, we will visit Meknes and Volubilis. Volubilis is the sight of the famous remaining Roman ruins of the southernmost outpost of the Roman Empire. Meknes is the site of the first Arab dynasty created by Moulay Ismail. Madrasa Bou Inania and Bab Mansour, the gateway to the Moulay Ismail Palace. This brings us to Henri es-Souani, the horse stable and barns. Upstairs there is a garden and a rooftop cafe with a great view of the city. Arrive in Fez, check in at the hotel.

Day 2: Fes:

After breakfast, we will start our visit of “the oldest Medina in the world” with a local tour guide. We will visit the Medina with its “souks” (markets), we will stop at the entrance of the Royal Palace, the Karouine Mosque from the 9th century and the University. We will also visit the tomb of the founder of the city “Moulay Idriss II”. Lunch will take place in one of the traditional restaurants of the old Medina. After lunch we will continue our tour to visit the Nejjarine Fountain, the old Harem Garden and the Batha Museum. On the way back to the hotel, we will stop to enjoy a panoramic view of the city.

Day 3: Fes » Merzouga:

In the morning we will go to the mountains to a tour region like Imouzzer, which is covered by forests of cedar, juniper and cork oak. The area is known for having abundant wildlife and we can see many types of birds, wild boars and Barbary apes on our scenic drive. The path will then begin to climb into the Middle Atlas Mountains where we can see the slopes dotted with the tents and goat herds of nomadic Berbers that call this rugged region home. After a late lunch in Midelt, we continue along mountain roads with views of the wide Oued Ziz. Passing Kasbahs and palm groves, we pass through the adobe-colored city of Er-Rachidia, arriving in the late afternoon at Merzouga, a city on the outskirts of the Sahara desert, where we will spend the night.

Day 4: Erg Chebbi:

In the morning, we start our tour of the Erg Chebbi dunes. We will visit a Berber house and listen to Gnawa music; Originally from Ghana and Sudan. We will visit some deserted mines, berber nomads and palm oases. For lunch we will return to Merzouga. After relaxing for a while we will go to the camels that are waiting to take us on an adventure in the sand dunes. We will spend the night in a camp equipped with drum music in the middle of the Sahara, which is a great opportunity to take beautiful sunset and sunrise photos. When we arrive at the camp, we climb the high dunes to watch the sunset and spend the night in nomad tents.

Day 5: Merzouga » Ouarzazate:

After seeing the sunrise we return to Merzouga. We will have the opportunity to shower and have a delicious breakfast. Then we start our journey back to Ouarzazate. On the way, we visit the Berber shops where you can buy souvenirs such as fossils, carpets, lamps, leather… We arrive in Ouarzazate in the afternoon and spend the night in a hotel.

Day 6: Ouarzazate » Marrakech:

Leaving Ouarzazate in the morning, we will have another chance to visit Ait Ben Haddou for lunch and tour this world heritage site. This famous 11th century kasbah was used as a backdrop for more than 20 films, including the famous Gladiator. After lunch, we will start our journey back to Marrakech via Tizi-n-Tichka and arrive in Marrakech in the evening.

Day 7: Marrakesh:

A full day tour of Marrakech. We will visit Menara, a pool surrounded by flower beds that function as an irrigation system for the surrounded fields. The sightseeing tour will cover several impressive places: Koutoubia Mosque, Majorelle Gardens, Bahia Palace and Dar Si Said Palace jewelry museum. Optional lunch will be in the Medina followed by a walk through the colorful souks of Marrakech. We will enjoy a drink at sunset overlooking the exciting Djemaa El Fna square from the terrace of a cafe, dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Marrakech » Casablanca:

We will leave in the morning and return to Casablanca, where our tour has started.
