Program Itinerary
Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat:
Pick up at the airport or at the hotel in Casablanca, we will begin the route that will take us to Rabat, the most important imperial city today, before, we will visit the Hassan II Mosque which is located on the seashore, a temple with the tallest tower in the Islamic world. . We will leave for Rabat. We will visit the city’s most important monuments: Kasbah of the Oudayas, the royal tomb Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Hassan Tower. Dinner and accommodation in hotel.
Day 2: Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis – Moulay Idriss – Fes:
Leaving towards Meknés, we will border the Mamora forest to reach Meknés. Its location in the Saiz plain, it was the capital of the Alaoui dynasty during the reign of Mulay Ismail. About 20 km from Meknes are the ruins of the Roman city of Volubilis, the best preserved archaeological site in this area of North Africa, considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1997. We will also visit the City that saw the birth of the first dynasty that kingdom of Morocco, Moulay Idriss, a town built on a rock overlooking the Oued Erroumane valley and the plain of Volubilis, we will continue until we reach our destination, Fes. Dinner and overnight in Riyadh
Day 3: Visit Fes:
Free day in Fes to get to know the city considered the religious and cultural center of the country. We enter the narrow streets of the old town and we will feel that time goes backwards: the union structure is still present at work, the narrowness of its streets does not allow any other means of transport than mules and a constant swarming of people moves through the streets. labyrinthine streets in the middle of which we will be surprised by neighborhoods like the Andalusian one and magnificent mosques and Koranic schools. In the tanners’ souk, you can participate in the medieval artisan process, through which they manage to give those bright colors to the leather. Fes has always been associated with study and religiosity, and continues to be the spiritual capital of Morocco. After visiting the medina, there is the option to walk aimlessly through the streets of Fes-Jdid, and see the royal palace, the Mellah (Jewish quarter) and the oldest mosque in Fes. Dinner and overnight in Riad.
Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Errachidia – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi Desert:
After breakfast, we will leave towards Midelt, passing through the mountains and cedar forests of the middle Atlas. Pass through Ifrane, also known as the Moroccan Switzerland for the aesthetics of its buildings and Azrou, an important craft center specialized in the work of Cedar wood. After the Zad pass (2178 m), we will arrive in Midelt for lunch. In the afternoon, we will descend towards Errachidia through the Ziz Valley, dotted with palm trees. Let’s cross through Erfoud, the ancient gateway to the desert and a city famous for its products, dates and fossils. We will continue our way until we reach the impressive Dunes of Merzouga, where we will have a hospitality tea while we rest a little. We will depart in a camel caravan that will take us to the foot of the Great Dune of the Erg Chebbi desert. During the walk, approximately an hour and a half to contemplate the beautiful sunset, contrast of colors and enjoy the silence above the dunes. We will arrive at the camp to settle in and enjoy an authentic Berber dinner and enjoy the music of the drums. We will sleep nomadic jaímas in the heart of the desert under the spectacular immense sky full of stars.
Day 5: All Merzouga Desert with Activities:
We got up early to enjoy the spectacular sunrise in the dunes. Next, we have breakfast, we will return to the town with the camels in the middle of the spectacular landscape. We headed to visit the town of Khamlia to attend a live Gnawa music show performed by the local inhabitants, they are a tribe of Sudanese origin who have continued with their black African musical tradition. We advance further through the desert to see the oasis and its towns before arriving at Tisardmin, a place where movies have been filmed, also a visit to the fossil quarry and we will share tea with a nomadic family. Lunch in an oasis, pic nik. Return to the town and camp to climb the dunes and watch the sunset and spend the night.
Day 6: Merzouga – Rissani – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate:
We will begin our journey to Rissani, the city where the Alaoui dynasty was born. We will visit the Souk, the most authentic and traditional in Morocco, and the largest in the south, its shops selling all types of artisan products, food and animals. We will continue our way to Ouarzazate through the Draa Valley, making stops to contemplate the charming adobe kasbahs and Berber villages that dot the road and the interesting geological formations of the Valley. We will arrive for dinner and stay in Ouarzazate
Day 7: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech:
A visit to the film studio is mandatory before continuing on our way to visit the fabulous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Super famous films such as Gladiator, the Jewel of the Nile, Babel have been filmed in this spectacular natural setting… We will continue on our way the 200 km that separate Ouarzazate from Marrakech run through the High Atlas. We will cross the Tizi Ntichka pass, beautiful panoramic views offered by the valley, Berber villages trapped in the hills with their atypical houses. We will arrive in Marakech, visit the square, dinner and accommodation at the Hotel or Riad.
Day 8: Marakech – Casablanca:
We will visit the historical monuments of the city, Menara, Bahia Palace, also visit the market. Have lunch at a restaurant in the square before leaving for Casablanca. We can take a walk through the old town and its squares. Dinner and accommodation at the Hotel or Riad.
