Program Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Tizi N Tichka Pass – Telouat Kasbah – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate:

The tour begins with an early pickup from the airport or your accommodation in Marrakech. We then drive through the fascinating High Atlas Mountains, and the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass. We will make stops to obtain panoramic views of the impressive landscapes. Then we will visit the Kasbah of Telouat.

Afterwards we will continue visiting the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A fortified town recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition, the Kasbah has appeared in many films such as: Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, etc. And also in television series like Game Of Thrones. Then we headed to “The Gate of the Desert” Ouarzazate. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Skoura (Kasbah Amridil) – Rose Valley – Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Sahara – Night in a Luxury Camp:

After breakfast, we visited the Atlas Studio where famous movies were filmed, and we also visited the Kasbah of Taourirt in Ourzazate. We will then drive southeast to visit the palm-fringed Kasbah of Amridil in Skoura. Then we continue towards the Valley of Roses. A Rose Festival is held annually in May, where locals offer their rose products, from perfumes, rose water, oil, to cosmetic products. Then we cross the Dades Valley, we stop at a place with views of the valley, to enjoy the spectacular landscape of the Dades Gorges. We then continue to the Todra Gorges, the course of the Todra River has carved a large canyon through the mountains making a tall red cliff canyon. Free time for lunch. Free time to walk through the gorges and appreciate the beauty of the landscape.

In the afternoon we arrive at the Sahara desert of Merzouga. Where you change to the camels and cross the sandy desert. You will make a stop to enjoy the magical sunset at the top of a high dune. Then we will continue to the luxurious desert camp, where you can enjoy the music of the Berber drums while dancing around the bonfire, under a vast open sky of stars. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 3: Explore the Merzouga Region – Nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga Lake – Erg Chebbi – Palm Grove:

Wake up early in the morning, to contemplate the beautiful sunrise, in the middle of the desert. Free time for breakfast. Then return by camel to Merzouga, where the driver waits. We spent the day exploring the Merzouga region. The area has so many incredible sites, from sand dunes, wild lake, mines, fossil sites to fabulous oases. Which are ideal places for so many outdoor activities.

Firstly, we start our trip in Merzouga, driving off-road to visit an old eyeliner mine. Then we visited the nomads, in their hand-woven Jaima. We will learn how they live while drinking Berber tea. Our next destination is the town of Khamlia, where we will enjoy the music of the Gnaoua, and the dance performances. Its inhabitants are originally from sub-Saharan countries such as Mali, Sudan and Niger. Free time for lunch at a restaurant. After that, we will take a walk through a palm grove. Then we will drive a few kilometers to see the wild lake of Merzouga, also called the lake of flamingos. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel.

Day 4: Merzouga Dunes – Erfoud – Midelt – Cedar Forest – Ifrane – Fes:

After breakfast, we leave the desert to visit the city of Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains an important trading center in the region, with a large lively souk on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. After a walk through the Rissani souk, we continued towards Erfoud where we visited one of the fossilized marble workshops.

After that we drive along the Ziz River, stopping for a panoramic view of the Ziz Valley. Free time for lunch in Midelt. We then continue towards the cedar forest, where the Barbary macaques live. Free time to feed them while you walk through the forest. Then we will visit Ifrane, famous for its low temperature, snow and alpine-style houses. No wonder it is called the Switzerland of Morocco. Finally, we will drop you off at the airport or at your accommodation in Fes.

Day 5: Guided Tour of Fes:

We pick you up from your accommodation in Fes after breakfast, to explore the city of Fes. The city is considered one of the imperial cities, in addition to being the cultural and religious center of Morocco.

We start the day visiting the door of the Royal Palace. Then the well-preserved medieval Medina, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Blue Gate or Bab Boujloud is the entrance to the old Medina. Enter the Medina with a local guide. To visit the Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine fountain, the Tanneries and finally the mosque and the university of Quaraouin, the oldest university in the world. After that we left the Medina to visit the Jewish neighborhood “la Mellah”. We then head to an old fortress, to have panoramic views of the Medina and the city of Fes. Then we return to your riad.

Day 6: Transfer to the Airport:

After breakfast, we will pick you up for a short tour of the city of Fes, before going to the airport. End of the tour.
