Itinerario del Programa

Day 1: Fes – Azrou forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga:

After breakfast, we will meet you at your accommodation and start traveling south to Merzouga via Midelt and Errachidia. Your first stop will be in the city of Ifrane, called “the Switzerland of Morocco” and then in Merzouga via Midlet and the Ziz valley. During this trip, you will experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Upper Atlas Mountains. Stop at the famous cedar forest, the largest in Morocco, where you will have the opportunity to see barbarian apes. You’ll notice how the landscape changes to reveal hints of desert as you get closer to the southeastern province; City of Errachidia. After lunch in Midelt, your journey continues along the fantastic Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way. We will drive through Berber villages to Erfoud and then Rissani, the foundation of the ALAOUITE dynasty. The current ruling royal family in Morocco. Arriving in Merzouga at the end of the day, you will be greeted with a glass of mint tea before checking into our riad (dinner and breakfast).

Day 2: Merzouga:

After a luxurious breakfast in your riad, you will begin a journey of exploration in the area. You will visit the Gnawa people, originally from Mali, Senegal and Sudan in their village Khamlia, where you will learn about their music and lifestyle. Later, we will drive through the desert area to meet nomadic families and explore their way of life. Today our lunch will be a traditional meal (Berber pizza) with a local family. You will also have the option to visit the old city of Rissani. The founding of the ALAOUITE dynasty the current ruling royal family in Morocco. Rissani is surrounded by about 360 ksar (a fortified village with many towers) and has a large souk (an open market), held three times a week. Once called Sijilmassa, this was the meeting place for the salt caravans, coming from Tombouctou in Mali. Here you will walk through the market, selling spices, vegetables, and fabrics. After that, we will return to the village of Merzouga. In the afternoon, you will ride a camel, guided by an experienced camel driver, to explore what is hidden in the middle of the highest sand dunes in Morocco. Dinner will be served in front of the tent where you will spend the night.

Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley:

Early in the morning, your camel driver will wake you up to see what could be the best sunrise of your life. After that you will peacefully ride camel back to Merzouga village. Along the way, I couldn’t help but appreciate the unique beauty of Erg Chebbi’s spectacular sands that change with the light as the day progresses. After shower and breakfast in the riad, you will depart for the Rissani, Tinghir and Todra gorges, the narrowest and highest gorges in Morocco. Here you will have the option to walk for an hour inside the valley, where you will meet the locals and learn about the culture and geography. After lunch in the heart of the gorge, you will continue to the Dades Valley, where you will see the majestic sand castles and the incredible rock formations known as “monkey fingers”. Our accommodation will be an elegant guest house with dinner and breakfast.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech:

After breakfast at your accommodation, we will start traveling through the Dades Valley towards Ouarzazate and then on to Marrakech. The route through the Dades Valley is called the path of a thousand kasbahs, which provides plenty of opportunities to take some of the best photo shots of the trip. You will make a stop at Kalaat Mgouna, the center of the valley of roses, where you will have the option to visit the rose cooperative, to purchase the rose water, which will keep your clothes smelling good long after your trip is over. . Continue to Marrakech via the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Built by Et Hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains during the 19th century, the Kasbah is now a home to many Glaoui. Your journey will continue through the majestic Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains, where you will have the opportunity to explore the production process of argan oil existing only in Morocco, by Berber women in their cooperative, before to arrive. at your accommodation in Marrakech and at the end of our service.
