Program Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Boumalne Dades:

Today, we pick you up from your hotel in Marrakech and we leave for Ait Ben Haddou over the high Atlas mountains passing through the Tizi N’tichka pass (2260 m altitude), we will visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and stop for lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon we will drive to Ouarzazate and stop near the atlas film studios to take a photo and then continue to the city center for a panoramic view of the Taourirt kasbah. After that, you will head to Kalaa M’gouna or Boumalne du Dades for the night. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 2: Boumalne Dades – Kelâat M’Gouna – Boumalne Dades – Todra Gorge – Tinejdad – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi:

This morning after breakfast at the hotel, drive towards Tineghir passing through Boumalne du Dades and stopping for a panoramic view of the Dades valley. Later, we will continue to Todra Gorges via IMIDER and Tineghir. Stopping along the way to take photos and admire the views. Arrive at Todra Gorges to enjoy its wonderful views of the Canyons while walking on foot. In the afternoon we continue to Tinejdad and take a break for lunch and then to Erfoud where you will visit a local fossil craft workshop. After that you will continue to the captivating Erg Chebbi dunes, these dunes are also called Merzouga Dunes. Arrive at the hotel and get ready for a camel trek for an hour and a half to enjoy the sunset. While on the back of your dromedary, you will continue to the camp for the night in a traditional nomad tent. Dinner and overnight in a bivouac in the middle of the dunes.

Day 3: Merzouga – Khamlia Village – Erg Chebbi:

This is a full day in the desert. “Date with the sunrise” If you are in the middle of the desert, it is worth getting up early to see the most spectacular sunrise you have ever seen on top of a dune near the camp and enjoy this landscape that is a gift of nature. After sunrise we return to Merzouga on camels where a hearty breakfast awaits us. Then we will border the Erg Chebbi, a large expanse of sandy desert where we can find the Great Dune of Morocco. Which is more than 250 meters high. We then continue along the road that was formerly used for the “Paris – Dakar” and ends in the mountains that border Algeria. Stop at the Tissardmin oasis where we can find fossil quarries still present in the area, then we continue along a path where we can see nomadic settlements and learn about their secrets and customs. The next stop will be at a viewpoint to contemplate the Erg Chebbi hole. We will then arrive at Khamilia Village, originally from Mali, where we will have a relaxing cup of tea while listening to a concert of Gnawa spiritual music. Transfer to your accommodation and free afternoon to enjoy the town or the dunes next to the hotel to watch the sunset. Dinner and night at the hotel.

Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Azrou Forest – Fes:

After breakfast we start our last day north through the Tafilalet palm grove, the largest in the world. You will see thousands of palm trees along the 20 km of road. This path takes us to the Ziz Valley, whose river descends from the High Atlas and feeds the palm grove. Here we make a stop and from this high viewpoint, we enjoy a magnificent view of the valley and the village of AOUFOUS. We make another stop in Midelt, right in the heart of the Atlas where you will have free time to have lunch and rest for a while. In the afternoon we continue our way through Cedar Woods where, if we are lucky, we will see some monkeys. The next place we will visit is the city of Ifrane, located on the northwestern slope of the Middle Atlas at 1630 meters above water level. Its wide avenues, its urban development with perfect cleanliness, the gardens, the green areas and its architecture make this city look like a Swiss town. Ifrane feels out of place in Morocco. That is why it is called the Moroccan Switzerland, and as if that were not enough, it has an important ski resort, Michlifen, around 6 pm we arrive in Fes, transfer to the hotel and end of our services.
