Day 1: Marrakech to Dades Valley via Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate

Your 3 day trip from Marrakech to Merzouga begins with a pickup from your accommodation at 8:00 AM. From there, we’ll drive through the High Atlas Mountains, passing the scenic Tizi N’Tichka pass. Along the way, we’ll make stops to capture photos of the small Berber villages nestled within the rugged landscape.

The first significant stop is Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its ksar (fortified village), which has been a backdrop for many Hollywood films like Gladiator and The Mummy. You’ll have some free time to explore the area and have lunch.

Next, we’ll head to Ouarzazate, known as “The Door of the Desert”. Here, we’ll visit Kasbah Taourirt, one of the most famous ksars in Morocco. The journey continues to the Valley of the Roses, where you can admire the lush palm groves and experience the production of rose water, used in cosmetics.

Finally, we will arrive at Dades Valley, where you’ll enjoy dinner and spend the night.

Day 2: Dades Valley to Merzouga Desert – Todra Gorges, Camel Trek, and Berber Camp

We’ll embark on a camel ride for about an hour, crossing the desert’s rolling sand dunes before arriving at our Berber camp in the heart of the desert. Here, we’ll have the chance to watch the breathtaking sunset from atop a dune before returning to the camp for a traditional Moroccan dinner. The night will be spent under the stars in a Berber tent, where you can enjoy the serene atmosphere of the desert.

Day 3: Sunrise in the Sahara and Return to Marrakech
