Program Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca:

On the first day we pick you up from the airport, the port or your accommodation in Casablanca. Casablanca is considered the economic center, and the largest city of Morocco. First, we will visit the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco, located on the west coast of the city. It is on a promontory, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Free time for lunch. We will then explore the city, also visiting the amazing Cornwall of Casablanca. Accommodation in a hotel.

Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat the capital – Chaouen (The Blue City):

After breakfast, we drive along the coast to Rabat. One of the imperial cities of Morocco, and the current capital. It is located in the northwest of Morocco. We will visit the highlights of the city, including: the Hassan tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and also the Kasbah of Oudaya. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon we head north through Ouazzane, to reach the blue city of Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. Accommodation in a hotel.

Day 3: Visit Chaouen the Blue City:

After breakfast, we will explore Chefchaouen, the blue city, also known as Achaoun, which means horns in Berber. The city is located in the Rif Mountains in northwest Morocco. It is famous for its blue and white painted buildings and alleys. First of all we will walk through its charming old Medina, which has so many authentically blue doors and whitewashed walls. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon you can take an excursion to the Spanish Mosque. Located on high ground, where you can see the spectacular view of the entire blue city. Finally, return to your hotel. Spend the night in the same hotel.

Day 4 : Chaouen- the Roman Ruins of Volubilis- Meknes – Fes:

After breakfast, free time to stroll through the beautiful alleys of the blue city of Chefchaouen. We then headed to visit the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. It is well preserved, as it is recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It has many beautiful mosaics scattered here and there, along with ancient pillars and arches. After strolling through the ruins, we drive 30 km to visit Meknes, the Ismaili capital and one of the imperial cities. We will visit Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin, the royal stables, the granary and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Then we head to Fes. We will spend the night in a Riad.

Day 5: Guided tour of Fes:

We spend the day exploring the highlights of Fes. The city is considered one of the imperial cities, as well as being the cultural and religious center of Morocco.

First of all, we start the day by visiting the gate of the Royal Palace. Then the well-preserved medieval Medina, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which we will visit with a local guide. We will visit the Blue Gate or Bab Boujloud, the entrance to the old Medina, which seems to be a maze of alleys and streets. You will enter the Medina to visit the Medrasa Bouanania, the source of Najjarine, the Tanneries. And finally the mosque and the university of Quaraouin, the oldest university in the world. After this, we will leave the Medina to visit the Jewish quarter, also known as “the Mellah”. In the afternoon, we go to an old fortress to have a panoramic view of the Medina and the city of Fes. Finally, we return to your Riad.

Day 6: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Sahara:

After a hot breakfast, we head south via Imouzzer to visit Ifrane, famous for its low temperature, snow, and alpine-style architecture houses. No wonder it is called the Switzerland of Morocco. Then the tour continues to the cedar forest, where the Barbary macaques live. Feel free to feed them, while you wander through the forest. Later, we continue to Midelt, where we will have free time for lunch. Then we drive to Merzouga through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the Ziz valley. With stops for panoramic views.

In the afternoon, we arrive at the Sahara desert of Merzouga, where you change to the camels, and cross the sand desert. You will make a stop at the top of a high dune to enjoy the sunset. Finally, continue to the camp, which is a combination of the traditional tents of the nomads, and the luxury of a hotel. where you can enjoy the music of the berber drums, while dancing around the bonfire, under a vast open sky of stars. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 7: Explore the Merzouga region: Nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga lake – Erg Chebbi – Palm grove:

Wake up early in the morning, to contemplate the beautiful sunrise, in the middle of the desert. Free time for breakfast. Then the camels return to Merzouga, where the driver waits. We spend the day exploring the Merzouga region. The area has so many amazing sites, from sand dunes, wild lake, mines, fossil areas to fabulous oases. Which are ideal places for so many outdoor activities.

First of all, we start our journey in Merzouga, driving off-road to visit an old liner mine. Then we visit the nomads, in their handwoven tent. We will learn how they live while we drink a Berber tea. Our next destination is the town of Khamlia, where you will enjoy the music of the Gnaoua, and dance performances. Its inhabitants are originally from sub-Saharan countries such as Mali, Sudan and Niger. Free time for lunch in a restaurant. After that, we will take a walk in the palm grove. Then we will drive a few kilometers to see the wild lake of Merzouga, also called the flamingo lake. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel.

Day 8: Merzouga Sahara – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley:

After breakfast, we leave the desert to visit the city of Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains an important center of commerce in the region, with a lively large souk on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

After a walk through the Rissani market, we continue to Erfoud where we visit one of the fossilized marble workshops. Then we cross the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, to reach the Todra Gorges. The course of the Todra river has created a large canyon through the mountains making a high red cliff canyon. These gorges are an ideal place for climbers. Free time to walk through the gorges and appreciate the beauty of the landscape. Free time for lunch in a restaurant. Then we continue to the Dades Valley, through Boumalne Dades. Inevitable stops at the “monkey fingers” rock formation, and at a spot on top of a mountain overlooking the Dades Valley. Finally, dinner and accommodation in a hotel.

Day 9: Dades Valley – Valley of the Roses – Skoura Palm Grove – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah- Telouet – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech:

After breakfast, we continue our journey to Kalaa Magouna, to visit the Valley of Roses. The Rose Festival is held annually in May. Where locals offer their rose products, from perfumes, rose water, oil, to cosmetic products. Then we drive through the palm groves of Skoura, and visit the Kasbah of Amredhyle, before reaching Ouarzazate, where we visit the studios, in which famous movies were shot, and we also visit the Kasbah of Taourirt.

We leave to visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A fortified town recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. In addition, the Kasbah has appeared in many movies such as: Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy etc. And in television series like Game Of Thrones. After that we visit the Kasbah of Telouet. Then we continue to Marrakech, passing through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, and the High Atlas Mountains. We will make stops for lunch, and to take photos in interesting places. We will spend the night in a Riad in Marrakech.

Day 10: Guided tour of Marrakech:

After a hot breakfast, we will explore the highlights of Marrakech with a local guide. The city is considered one of the four imperial cities of Morocco. The visit includes: the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the Ben Youssef Koranic Mosque, and a walk through the largest traditional souk in Morocco. Free time for lunch near the Jemaa El-Fna square. Later you will visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest in Marrakech, and the Majorelle Garden. Finally, transfer to your accommodation. Free time to walk through Jemaa El-Fna on your own.

Day 11: Marrakech – Essaouira:

After breakfast, we head west to the city of Essaouira. On the way we will make stops to see the Argan tree goats and also for panoramic views. We arrive at the city of Essaouira, formerly called Mogador, one of the most important coastal cities in Morocco. And we will visit the fishing port, the old walls with cannons, and also the old Medina. Finally, transfer to your hotel. Accommodation in Essaouira.

Day 12: Essaouira – Casablanca:

On the last day of your 12-day itinerary in Morocco, depending on the flight time- we leave Essaouira and drive along the coast. We will make stops along the way to have panoramic views. We arrived at the Casablanca airport. End of the tour.
